It's been a while but today was the day we had the Internet set up in the new place. I didn't realise quite how much I used the Internet until it was gone. Even simple things like checking what people were up to on Xbox Live. But it's back and so everything is right with the world again.
The new house is lovely, have unpacked about half the boxes, which I have to say is a lot better than last time. Just had two new additions to our little family...Pi and Log. They are two of the cutest guinea pigs ever.
These past two weeks whilst I have been hidden from the world I have lost myself in two others, namely Albion and post-apocalyptic USA. Both very different games but both equally amazing. Fable 2 had a disappointingly short storyline even when wandering off to work and marry etc. but it does make up for that with a decision at the end that adds to replayability. I found myself wishing that my character could have been prettier or that I didn't look like a whale after eating barely anything. I had to resort to only buying celery to keep the weight off. That sounds pretty damn vain actually. Despite all of this Fable 2 was a really enjoyable game, I loved the characters and felt myself falling for that dog. I played through as a virtual angel and I'll definitely play through again so I can be evil!
Fallout 3 is one I haven't played so much but what I've seen I really loved. The character customisation is good; not too much and not too little. Once again I'm playing through as a pure saint, for some reason I just feel bad if I do anything wrong. The environment is absolutely awe inspiring and the levelling up works well. I never really got into Oblivion but I'll definitely be playing Fallout 3 a lot more!
Another game we bought recently was Little Big Planet. I was really excited about this when it was first announced but after all the publicity I was getting bored of it before it had even come out. As soon as I started playing it I felt all the hype had been justified. I absolutely love it. It looks good but it's not sickeningly cute and the physics in it are amazing. I haven't been able to check out the online community stuff yet due to lack of Internet but I'm really looking forward to trying that out in the next few days.
How could I forget the other big release of the past few weeks? Gears of War 2. Again haven't been able to see the online side of it yet but now I have the Internet back I'm spoilt for choice. There's not really much to say about Gears 2 except that the sound is amazing. I love the dirtiness of it, it really adds to the atmosphere. The gameplay is, as expected, really something else and the entire game has this cool kind of feel to it from the icons to the animations.
So now I've finished with the list of games that I've bought since last on here I'll be off to go and play some of them. Just waiting for Mirrors Edge and Banjo to arrive in the next couple of days. It's such a good time to be a gamer.
